KIEV – the last few days

Typical wiring outside our apartment. They put every kind of wire there is in here and then leave it open. We had to take the kids to a special doctor licensed to process immigration applicants. Lauren took this image of us outside the embassy after our interview there this morning 1/12. This was the last step. All I had to do was return in the afternoon to get the kids’ visas. We are done! Here’s how we dry our wash. Chelmnitsky is a Ukrainian folk hero from the 19th century. A true reading of history says he sold out to the Russians by signing the treaty of Pereslava. He was also one in a long line of Ukrainian Jew butchers. One technique was to put them between boards and saw them in half. He gets a major statue on one of the biggest plazas in Kiev.
